dcarbon8 clients sweep World Business/ INSEAD Green Business Awards 2007

3rd December 2007

Two dcarbon8 clients, ProLogis and CA Group, won major awards at the 2007 World Business Green Business Awards on the 29th November at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

The purpose of the awards was to identify the best eco-companies in the world and champion the work they are doing, in order to encourage others to follow suit. Entrants had to show that they have approached the environmental initiatives in a rigorous and innovative manner, and designed them to be effective in the long-term.

Judges were also assessing whether new ideas can be replicated by others and therefore have a wider impact on business and society, whether employees were involved in development and whether costs savings were also achieved.

ProLogis, the world’s largest owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities was nominated by judges to receive the Best Overall Green Business of the Year, for the most outstanding company in green business. dcarbon8 assisted the company in developing their Sustainability Strategy, and writing their first annual Sustainability Report.

Prologis also won the Most Efficient Green Business award, which was for the most effective company to have found ways to significantly improve the efficiency of their energy, water and waste management.

CA Group, another of the founding members of dcarbon8, was the recipient of the Best Use of Product Design award for  its product SolarWall. The SolarWall is a transpired solar collector which is an innovative heating and ventilation system for buildings. By harnessing the energy emitted from the sun, SolarWall cladding can provide either heated process air, or warmed ventilation air, ensuring increased comfort while dramatically reducing CO2 emissions.
