dcarbon8 shortlisted for Environmental and Sustainable Company of the Year

dcarbon8 has been selected for the Environmental and Sustainable Company of the Year award shortlist as one of four exemplary companies to be considered at this year’s Builder and Engineer Awards. Chosen from a pool of twenty seven companies, dcarbon8 stood out because of the company’s unique profile as cutting edge practitioner in embodied carbon in buildings measurement and reduction. In the past year dcarbon8 has won such exciting engagements as Masdar City carbon management and Sainsbury’s low-carbon store development, as well as made important contributions to the field through its work with the Construction Emissions Community of Practice (CeCOP) and the Industrial Developer Sustainability Forum (IDSF), both collaborative groups working to advance a consistent protocol for calculating building whole life emissions and reducing carbon. Selection for the shortlist recognizes the high quality work that dcarbon8 consistently delivers.
The 5th Annual Builder & Engineer Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday 9th October 2008 at the Palace Hotel, Manchester. Guest speaker Michael Ankers, chief executive of The Construction Products Association will address such issues as how the CPA is ensuring construction products innovate and meet the government's drive towards sustainability.
